I bought this because I can’t drink as much green tea as I would like. I was curious about all the complaints about the pill taste and so on.

Assuming they quality is genuine, it tastes EXACTLY like concentrated green tea. Yes, if you try to taste it, it is pretty potent and aweful. SO, all you do is place it on your tongue, do not move it around your mouth!! Then take a single big gulp of water and get it down fast. What’s so hard about that? You get a slight hint of the green tea taste from where it was placed on your tongue, but it’s mild if you do it that way. I’m not that smart, but kind of common sense to me to solve the problem. It doesn’t taste funny, it tastes like friggen concentrated green tea, which is what ya want, right?!

When buying this product, you should know that it is a brick of the extract. There is no coating on the outside, no gelatin capsule. I am generally not good at swallowing pills – without the coating, this product is really hard for me to swallow. It’s not a huge pill (like a fish oil pill), it just can stick to your pallet/throat. In my view, the difficulty in swallowing is not worth the cheap price. On the other hand, it seems to be a good-quality extract in terms of it’s EGCG content. I have no reservations about it’s quality; it’s not a “weird chemical”; it is the extract dissolving as you try to swallow it.

I will grant that these tablets are uncoated, and you should drink water right after you put the pill(s) in your mouth. But, this is a minor inconvenience. The quality seems to be there and I’m happy with the value. I’ve shopped around for Green Tea and EGCG extracts, and this one is the one I picked. The company has a good reputation, and I’m not going to drink 10 cups of green tea to get its benefits. Not when I can just take one or two Source Naturals Green Tea Extract.
