Teavana debuts their new collection of teas for 2009 beginning October 27, just in time for the holiday shopping season. From a rare Black Dragon Pearl tea to a unique Samurai Chai Maté, this collection of teas further extends the wonderful aromas and health benefits that make Teavana special. For a limited time, they are also offering special promotions on the new teas via coupons that can be obtained at the stores.

Teavana, known for procuring the finest loose leaf tea from around the world, debuts the 28 new teas, which include a combination of pure estate and flavored white, green, oolong, black and herbal teas. In conjunction with the debut, Teavana also announced an online contest at http://www.Teavana.com where guests can vote for their favorite tea from the new assortment and be entered into a drawing for a gift collection containing all 28 new selections.

The seven new white teas will become instant classics and have special value. White tea is popular because it contains the highest amount of antioxidants and very little caffeine. Imperial Açaí Blueberry pairs white tea with “Superfoods” like blueberries and natural Açaí, it becomes a delicious – and an even healthier cup of tea. For those who prefer a spicier blend, Teavana’s White Ayurvedic Chai includes white and green teas mixed with bruised peppers, cinnamon, and lemongrass. It has a healthy kick that will excite taste buds. Peach Momotaro is a hand-tied artisan blooming tea which has a wonderful peach flavor, and actually blooms into a beautiful flower as it steeps. Finally, delicate hand-rolled white tea pearls and tropical fruit bits are combined in the rare and flavorful Frutto Bianco Pearls.

Tea lovers continue to treasure green teas and Teavana has added four new green teas as well. Kuki Matcha combines Kukicha green tea with Matcha, which is used in the traditional Japanese tea ceremony. The combination is a creamy, emerald green tea full of flavor. The delicious Fruta Bomba packs a powerful punch of fruity taste and antioxidants. With the combination of ripe peach, apple, and papaya mixed with green tea and African Rooibos red tea, this blend can be enjoyed even by those who typically do not choose green tea.

Teavana has increased their selection of Oolong teas by adding four new flavors. Sweet Oolong Revolution will be popular this Autumn as it includes the delicious taste of pumpkin, cloves, papaya and cardamom just in time for the holidays. But Kamiya Papaya Oolong has also drawn interest due to the tropical flavors of papaya, pineapple, orange and apple, inspired by a Hawaiian vacation, paired with very healthy Oolong tea. Oolong tea is reported to help enhance the body’s metabolism as well as suppress hunger, and is often referred to as “dieter’s tea.”

The broad category of herbal teas includes a variety of herbal blends, from fine quality relaxing Swiss Vervaine Mélange which blends vervaine, ginger and peppermint, to the healthful combination of ginseng, ginger and St. John’s Wort in Ginseng Vitality. This assortment of red and green Rooibos teas, South American Matés, and delicate flowers and herbs from around the world will be sure to inspire a sense of adventure.

Rare and flavorful black teas complete the mix, with the refreshing Cacao Mint Black’s splash of peppermint, hazelnut, and cocoa or Sour Cherry Serenade’s tart and subtle combination of hibiscus, cherry, apple and orange peel. By popular demand, the addition of the rare Chinese Black Dragon Pearls is complemented by the “Champagne of Teas”, Darjeeling Vidyaranya.

In conjunction with the tea launch, Teavana will be adding new gift sets, teapots, and other tea accessories in time for the holiday season. The new collection is designed to excite the tea expert as well as the novice tea lover. Visit any Teavana store or http://www.Teavana.com to experience all the new teas and tea accessories.

Atlanta-based Teavana first opened in 1997 with the name meaning “Heaven of Tea”. The mall based stores are part retail shop (tea pots, and tea accessories) and part tea emporium with many different selections of loose-leaf tea from all over the world. Teavana representatives say they will have close to 100 stores open by Spring 2009.
