   This would be a very nice set except that a drip in the glaze on the teapot lid made it impossible to put the lid on the teapot rendering it useless for making tea. The cups and saucers are well formed, attractive and very useful, though the cups are small. The caddy could not be used to carry the set around because the cups are unstable in it. but is an effective stand and pot warmer. I was disappointed in the quality of the glaze on the pot, it was uneven and missing in some spots and the ceramic mold marks were not trimmed away properly. teacups aside (I like the teacups), I would not buy this again. On the other hand the pot lid drip and galze problem are probably happenstance and not typical of the product

   When I originally received this item, the tea set shipped to me had the same defect another reviewer mentioned in that the porcelain lid was improperly cut and would not fit onto the teapot. I contacted Amazon about this and was advised that I did not need to return the defective item (also due to several of the other pieces having been broken during shipping) and that a replacement would be sent to me right away. I received the replacement within less than one week, and it was exactly as pictured online and in perfect condition. I absolutely love this tea set! The stand holds the saucers, cups, and teapot, and underneath the teapot there’s a place for a tealight candle to keep the tea warm. I can’t say enough how impressed I am with this classy and beautiful tea set, not to mention the outstanding customer service I received from Amazon! Great buy and incredible price- highly recommended!

   i ordered this as a gift for a friend and was embarrassed when we opened it to find out that one wire hook for the teacups was snapped off and the lid of the teapot did not fit the pot (maybe it fit before the item was glazed? i dont know). i would not purchase from this retailer again.
